Imagine helping someone learn to read... Literacy is a gift that lasts a lifetime.

Reading changes people's lives by opening up a whole new world of knowledge.  For many people in developing countries, literacy can be the way out of poverty to a life which reaches its full potential. Every year, the Bible Society's Literacy for Life program helps thousands of people learn to read, using special New Reader Scriptures books. They learn about God's love as they learn to read.

The Bible Society worldwide provides Scriptures to people in the language they understand best and in a format they can use. This includes the provision of literacy materials based on the Scriptures for thousands of people in the developing world. Literacy for Life Partners pledge a minimum of $20 per month which is tax deductible. Each year this provides literacy materials for 24 people. As a Literacy for Life Partner, you will receive a membership bookmark and a quarterly newsletter which includes news of literacy work around the world.
