BOLIVIA
A nation at the crossroads.

Bible Society Australia’s project for 2008

As the gap widens between indigenous and non-indigenous,
powerful and weak, rich and poor, tensions are mounting.
Desperation is leading many people into acts of crime and violence;
alcohol and drug abuse is a major problem; children are sent to work
in the streets to help feed their hungry families; those who are unable
to work – the old and the sick – have little choice but to beg.

In 2008, the Bible Society Australia is hoping to raise AU$100,000 for Bolivia to provide:
• Scripture activity packs for children in poverty;
• New Testaments and Scripture music CDs
for troubled young people;
• New Testaments and Scripture Portions for mine
workers and their families;
• A new revision of the Aymara Bible with study
notes and aids to reach the Aymara people with
God’s Word in their heart language.

In order to help us reach this goal, a special Bolivia Project Pack has been prepared and mailed out to churches, groups and schools around the country, inviting Christians to partner with us in this unique opportunity.

The Pack contains an information booklet with facts on Bolivia, its people, and the crucial projects we will be supporting. It also contains a DVD, SEEDS Project magazine for children, a Children’s Leaders’ Guide, a poster, order form and handy prayer bookmark.

If your church, group or school would like to participate in the 2008 Bolivia Project, but has not yet received a Project Pack, copies are available from your local Bible Society office.
