SOUL FOOD SURINAME PROJECT
Bible Society Australia’s project for 2011

In days past, Moravian and Roman Catholic missionaries have travelled across Suriname and its neighbours, sharing God's Word, and seeing people come to the Lord Jesus Christ.

However, those who came to believe did not have easy access to the Scriptures. As a result, we are now seeing a renewed interest in folk religion, animistic beliefs and ancestral worship, particularly in remote villages.
In some coastal areas there is no Christian presence at all, leading Hindu worshippers to start erecting images of their idols in public places.

There is a window of opportunity - right now - to reach these people, and the Suriname Bible
Society is anxious to make the Scriptures more affordable and accessible to all.

But we cannot do it alone ... we need your help.

Please pray and give so that the people of Suriname, Guyana and French Guiana will have the privilege of owning God's Word in their own heart language.
