Bible Reading Plans
Unfortunately, the statistics on regular Bible reading are very low—even among Church attendees! The last Australian Church Life Survey showed that only 19% of church attendees read the Bible daily or on most days; it also showed that 12% of respondents read the Bible a few times a week, 5% once a week, 27% occasionally and 37% hardly ever or never.
We would like to encourage you to engage regularly with the Word of God. We have 4 Bible reading guides that you can use daily. The guides are totally undated so you can begin any time during the year. They have tick boxes to help you keep up-to-date. They cover approximately one quarter of the Bible. Each year's readings follow from those of the previous year, so by following them for 4 years you will read the whole Bible. The readings are in blocks from different books from both the Old and New Testament.
By clicking on the graphics above, you can download the Bible Reading Guide, A4 size.
Perhaps you could encourage your church to have Bible Celebration as a week when the focus would be on helping individual Christians develop the discipline of Bible reading 365 days a year. Some of these guides are still available in printed form but you are welcome to print as many copies as you need. Contact Customer Service - 02 9829 9090 - for availability and prices.
