You can help the work of the Bible Society and save your money at the same time... invest in the Trustees' Deposit Fund (TDF).

The Bible Society in Australia founded the TDF over 30 years ago. Its purpose is to raise funds for the Society’s work by investing money loaned by its supporters.

How does it work?

It’s easy. You lend money to the Bible Society, and they invest this money. The difference between the interest earned on the accumulated funds and the interest paid to the depositors goes towards the work of the Society.

You have the choice of investing at a per annum interest rate of 2% or 2.5% (3% effective 1st January 2010) - or at no interest. The deemed rates of interest are also available to pensioners. Of course, by accepting a lower rate of interest, more funds are available to help the Bible Society.

Your money is held ‘at call’ and you can add as much as you like to your investment at any time.

For interest bearing accounts, interest is calculated on the daily balance. This is paid twice yearly, at the end of March and September, or upon closure of the account.

 

Is my investment safe?

All monies deposited with the Trustees’ Deposit Fund are held in authorized trustee investments.

Since inception of the TDF, all withdrawals have been paid on demand.

How would I make withdrawals?

Send a written, signed withdrawal request to our Office in Canberra.

Withdrawals are processed within 24 hours of being received at the Office (excluding weekends and public holidays). Funds can be directly transferred to your bank account for quick and easy access.

Simply phone The Bible Society on 1800 688 001 (Freecall) and ask for a Trustees' Deposit Fund application form. Send the completed form and initial deposit (in cheque form; please do not send cash in the mail) to our Canberra office.
